This month’s updates bring more speed, convenience, and intelligence to your Balance experience, introducing a new MCP server that lets you uncover insights and take action through chat, along with global dashboard search, self-serve invoice customization, and more.

Here's what's new:

MCP server now in beta: powering real-time insights and actions with AI

Balance now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that allows AI systems like ChatGPT and Claude to securely interact with external APIs, databases, and workflows. With Balance’s new MCP server, your preferred LLM can access Balance’s APIs directly to uncover insights and perform actions, all from within your AI chat interface.

The new server allows you to:

  • Manage day-to-day tasks through chat: onboard new buyers, create qualification links, finance orders, or generate invoice PDFs, without leaving your AI interface.

  • Discover buyer-level insights instantly: review a buyer’s recent payment history, see how often they reach their credit limit, or identify invoicing issues before a meeting, all through natural-language prompts.

Together, these capabilities let you work with Balance directly through your everyday AI assistant, combining automation and intelligence in one seamless experience.

The MCP server is now in closed beta. Let us know here if you’d like to be notified when it becomes generally available.

Find anything faster with the new Global Dashboard Search

Quickly locate transactions, invoices, payments, buyers, vendors, and payouts using the new Search button in the dashboard or by pressing “/”. You can search by ID, amount, name, or the last four digits of a card or bank account, and jump straight to the matching record anywhere in the dashboard.

The feature is live for select merchants and will roll out to all merchants soon.

Self-serve invoice customization in the dashboard settings

The new Invoice Settings tab lets admins view and manage invoice configurations directly in the dashboard, giving you direct control over how invoices appear to buyers. You can adjust which details are shown, add custom notes, display payment method information, or choose which payment link to include. As you make changes, a live preview updates instantly to reflect your selections before saving.

The feature is now available for select merchants, with broader availability coming soon.

Simpler reconciliation with the new Accounting Date field

The new Accounting Date field in the Activity Log, available in both the dashboard and CSV exports, shows each transaction’s date for accounting purposes, alongside its original creation date. This distinction helps finance teams identify which accounting period a transaction impacts, making it easier to reconcile books and track adjustments, refunds, and other changes applied to past periods.

Faster, more seamless in-app limit increase requests

Buyers who request a higher limit from the approval screen can now complete the entire process directly within the credit application. They can provide additional business details, such as owner information or e-commerce platform data, without leaving the app. This enhancement helps qualified buyers access higher limits even faster and more seamlessly.
