Product Update: April 2025
This month, we’re rolling out key updates to enhance the buyer experience, expand buyer approvals and credit limits, and make onboarding and expense management easier for buyers.
Let’s dive in.
Boost Approvals and Limits with Real-Time Transaction Data.
Buyers are more likely to get approved—and qualify for higher limits—when you share their historical transaction data. You can now do this in real-time, during the credit application, as part of the automated underwriting process.
How it works
Use the Create Qualification API to signal you'll be providing additional transaction data.
Push transaction history, monthly activity patterns, item categories, and/or historical shipping addresses via the Update Qualification Requirements API.
Activate with a simple integration. Now available for customers using v2.
Unlock more approvals and higher limits—activate now.
Empower Buyers with Self-Serve Credit Limit Increase Requests.
When initial limits fall short, approved buyers can easily request a higher limit by providing additional context, either immediately upon approval or later in the buyer portal (coming soon).
Once reviewed, buyers are notified by email, and approved higher limits are activated immediately.
This feature is being gradually rolled out. For more information, contact your account manager.
Streamline AP Setup with Downloadable Bank Confirmations.
To further streamline payment setup for enterprise buyers—who often require official confirmation of the destination bank account—merchants can now download a buyer-specific bank account confirmation PDF directly from the dashboard.
This Balance-branded document makes it easy to meet strict AP requirements and helps buyers onboard without delays.
Coming soon: buyers will also be able to download the confirmation directly from their portal.
Simplified Expense Management with Custom Fields Across the Order Lifecycle
Custom invoice fields—such as office, department, or purchase order numbers—provide critical context to help buyers and finance teams track and manage expenses. These fields now also appear in order confirmations, refunds, receipts, and credit notes—ensuring consistent visibility throughout the entire order lifecycle.
